School Band

The school band provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn to play an instrument and to perform in public, sometimes as part of significant public occasions such as Education Week, the local ANZAC Day Commemoration Service and Community Carols evenings in December. The Band has its own concert program culminating in the Annual Gala Concert in November.

Playing in the band is a very enjoyable and satisfying experience for the children. The benefits of being in the school band extend beyond just learning to play an instrument. These include widening one’s circle of friends, the esteem that comes from being part of a highly successful group in the school and the development of personal confidence which flows into all areas of the child’s learning.

This year the school is hosting a community band  - open to anyone who plays or wishes to learn to play. Also, an ensemble of parents learning various instruments has formed and is making excellent progress. The school is always happy to field enquiries from anyone, students or adults, interested in joining one of these groups.
